Healthy, Wealthy, and Socially Dead

I am still alive, I think. We got back home from our trip Monday evening and I was at work bright an early on Tuesday. I worked the rest of the week, spent yesterday doing wedding/family stuff and an headed back to work again today.

We have our first big deadline coming up at work this Friday so it means I have a long week ahead of me. I also haven’t been doing anything I’m at liberty to talk about. I will say this however; When google get excited about something you’re doing they let you know… several times a week.

Until next time.

Greetings from the world of tomorrow!

I got busy and didn’t get a chance to post a “see ya suckers” post to tell you all that I’ve been in Maine for the last week. Needless to say that I don’t have any programming/office related news. I’m currently in the Portland, ME airport awaiting my flight to Atlanta where I’ll get on a flight to the land of my birth… Portland, Or.

Tomorrow I get to go back to work where, if the email I’ve gotten is any indication, my boss has gone completely insane. I’m thinking that 27 is a good age to retire.

New Blog Skin

I promised a new blog skin back on my very first post and now I have delivered. There are a few things left to do but it’s done enough for me to make it live to the world. Here are a few of the notable features of this wordpress theme:

  • spifyness
  • tabs (very web 4.0)
  • the “Previous Post” and “Next Post’ images below use overlib to display the title of and an excerpt from the post they link to.
  • A brain too fried to come up with anything clever.

There’s still some work to do regarding the display of archives and categories but all that can wait. I don’t have enough posts to really make it a hardship.

Until next time. Over and out.

A world without IE

Almost on a daily basis one of us at work comes up with a really cool bit of CSS or javascript to make the app we’re working on “Web 2.0.” Upon showing the others in the office the question inevitably escapes someone’s lips, “How does it look in IE.” In the world of the web this question is the biggest buzzkill that there ever has been because invariably IE doesn’t display correctly.

In response to this daily ritual we have decided that one of use need to write the greatest web application in history. This is what it would do:

  • Step 1: Detect IE
  • Step 2: Download any other browser
  • Step 3: Install that browser
  • Step 4: Set that browser as default
  • Step 5: Uninstall IE.

The person who figures this out will be listed in the encyclopedia under “Hero” right next to Dr. Jonas Salk and Louis Pasteur

Everyone love quizes

This quiz was fun for me. And I enjoyed the result since I the first language I learned was Perl. I’ll put together a real post tonight, probably concerning my hatred of pants.
